I started coaching over 15 years ago with the sole purpose of helping people build confidence. I was never the most athletic, the most confident, or the most motivated but when I saw early on what regular exercise did for me, I made it my life's goal to help instill that same amazing feeling in everyone I came into contact with. One thing I love about CrossFit Liberate is that although our weaknesses and insecurities are on display almost every day, the community never makes you feel less than amazing, and because of that, we continue to show up and get better every single day.
When I started Crossfit, I was almost 50 pounds heavier and going through a heavy bout of depression. As someone who has always dealt with confidence issues and body dysmorphia, being the heaviest I had ever been in my life did not help. I considered myself an athlete my entire life but the pandemic had done a number on my physical, mental and emotional health. I stepped into CFL looking for nothing more than a way to look better, but left out of my first session feeling better than I had in 5 years. The community embraced me, the coaches were caring, and the vibes were vibin'. I knew then, this is where I wanted to be.
Motivation & Passion
My main goals in the fitness space are to spearhead the fight against childhood obesity and to be a bridge for those facing mental, physical, emotional, or financial barriers that have prevented them from reaping the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. I strive to bring fitness and fun to the populations that are often forgotten or put on the back burner. My ultimate goal is to have a world renowned Crossfit Kids program based out of this amazing gym.
